Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well! We're almost set to premiere, AMANDA GREEN, SIA, next Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Marili and I are pretty damn excited to get this thing going because we got some pretty great comics for you.
First, a bit of bad news: we're only going to update on Tuesdays instead of Tuesdays and Fridays. You may have noticed a change in the banner. Unfortunately, our schedules have conspired against us, so we're going to update once a week. I know, it's a bummer for everyone involved, but for the time being, it's the way things have to be. Maybe someday in the future we'll go to twice a week, but for now, once a week.
But that doesn't mean we won't have fun stuff for you to read! Sometime during the pre-production phase of this comic, I thought it'd be fun to make Twitter accounts for some of our characters. Amanda has her own (@siaamanda), and so does Carrie Broussard (@carriebrou), a character you don't know yet. You may notice at the bottom of the page there are a couple of Twitter widgets with their feeds. I would be delighted if you were to follow them and their day-to-day exploits as there may be some things that overlap between the comic and their Twitter feeds (*wink wink*).
And when I was thinking about these Twitter accounts, I thought it'd be fun to have them post pictures, like most people do. So you will see that. And the more I thought about Twitter accounts, I thought, "Well, they would probably link to stories, too, as people do." So we also started a fictional news site set in this world called the New Romford Free Press! You see that banner below us? Click on that, and you will see the NRFP website!....which has no stories posted yet, but there are some "ads" and things. (Isn't the logo neat and old-timey?) This sister site of Amanda Green, SIA, will post two stories a week, one on Tuesdays and the other on Fridays. That way we're still updating on the days we originally planned, even if it isn't what we originally planned. As for what kind of stories you'll be reading on the NRFP website, well, you're just going to have to wait and see. Some will be related to what happens in the comic, but most will be their own thing, and we hope you'll enjoy them, too.
So that's it for the updates! Next week we premiere! Spread the word, tell your friends. Heck, tell your enemies! This comic is going to be fun! :D

Twitter accounts
Hey, so we have a short update while we're busy creating this whole shindig. We got a couple of Twitter accounts for you to follow! First we have Amanda's account @siaamanda, and we have one for someone named Carrie Broussard, whoever that is.
We're less than two weeks away from starting this party, so mark your calendars (or just become a follower, or follow my Twitter account or something). ANYWAY. One more update next week for something fun, and there we go.

Update #1
Hello, kind internet travelers! It's been a while since I last talked to you about Amanda Green, SIA, and today, I am definitely going to do that. So, here we go!
...
Well, you kinda know what this comic is about already, right? I hope I don't have to explain this again, but heck, why not. Amanda Green is a superhuman insurance agent (SIA) in a city filled with superheroes, supervillains, and other superpowered humans! And this comic will follow the shenanigans a common person endures living in such a city. Imagine having to deal with flying dog people, gelatinous blobs of sentient eyeballs, and the occasional alien/parallel dimension/vampire/flying dog people invasion. Imagine that! Because Amanda probably won't see all of it first hand since she's just a normal person and this is a big city so she can't possibly be everywhere at once. So... Imagine!
(Actually, there may be something else coming along that will make your imagining of such absurd events easier. But that's a tease for some other day!)
Alright, so enough of my babbling. Is there any hard news in this thing, you're possibly wondering? Are you, dear reader, going to learn something new that you didn't know before? Why yes, you are! And here it is:
Amanda Green, SIA will debut May 15th, 2012!
Yes, we have a premiere date, ladies and gentlemen! Marili and I are working hard to create this wonderful comic, and you will actually be able to read it...with your own eyes! (And if gelatinous blobs of sentient eyeballs are reading this, well then, you can read it as well! Exclamation marks, wee!!!)
So, I hope you will come back on Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 to see what we've been cooking. But come back before then because I will have other goodies for you. Maybe even a couple Twitter feeds for you to follow. Let's say next week? Sound good to you? I'm going to assume you said, "Yes," or something to that effect.
See you soon, internet travelers!

A Preview
Amanda Green, SIA
So, what is Amanda Green, SIA, you ask?
Um, well, that's rather a rude question. Amanda is a who, not a what. She's a human being after all. Let's treat her as such, yes?
Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that was the title of this webcomic?
Yes! Yes, it is. I now see where you were going with that. Your phrasing wasn't very good if I may say so.
Fair enough. So what's this all about, and why are pretending this is a Q&A when we're the same person?
Ha ha, oh, me. You are a joker. Now shut up and let me talk.
Amanda Green, SIA (Superhuman Insurance Agent), is a brand new webcomic written by me, Greg Thelen, and drawn by my good friend Marili Ramirez. It takes place in the fictional American city of New Romford, which is filled with superheroes, supervillains, and other super-powered humans who are just going about their day. Now, as you might imagine, there's quite a bit of property damage due to all this superhuman activity what with all the crazy battles going on. That's where our protagonist, Amanda Green, comes in! She is a normal human living in this crazy city, picking up the pieces left behind by all those superfolk!
So what does she do exactly?
Mostly, paperwork at her office, but that's boring, so we won't see any of that. But she has to go out and access the damage left behind from the superbattles and interact with people who must live with this new hole in their house.
Is this a drama or what?
It's mostly a comedy, but I'm sure some dramatic moments will find their way into the comic.
Are you any good at comedy? I mean, you're the one writing this "interview".
Me, you're not helping.
Fine, what else can we expect from this webcomic? Are hijinks going to ensue?
Of course! Where would a webcomic be without the hijinks? No, but really, there will be hijinks. I know that doesn't really tell you anything, but trust me, you're in for a pretty fun ride! Maybe you'll even see dinosaurs!
Do you talk to yourself like this often? Why should I read a webcomic written by a crazy person?
Well, look, me--this is not helping. I am not a crazy person--at least no more crazy that anyone else--and I only talk to myself like this when I'm alone. It's not like I'm talking to myself in the comic. I...I mean, yes, I'm writing all the dialogue myself, so I guess you could say that I'm talking to myself in the comic, but that's not really what I...
...
Amanda Green, SIA, the brand new webcomic by Greg Thelen and Marili Ramirez will premiere sometime in May of 2012! Be sure to check in every so often as I will be updating our progress in a more straightforward manner (I promise). We're working hard to get ahead, so we can blast off to the stars or something.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy our comics!
-Greg (not crazy...really)
